Area App

Here are the dimensions of each room: Elevator Room: 18.51X5.4, Parallelogram room: 18.73X3.95, Small rectangle: 6.35X3.86, Triangle: 8.1, 17.53, 18.73, Big triangle: 21.93, 23.3, 7.57. The areas and formulas for each of the rooms are: Parallelogram: formula; hb=A, work:18.73x 3.95=73.93 units squared, Elevator room: formula; hb=A, work; 18.51x5.4= 99.95 units squared, Small Rectangle; formula; hb=A work; 6.35x 3.86= 24.51 units squared, Triangle; formula; 1/2bh=A, .5x8.1x17.53= 71 units squared, Big Triangle: formula; .5bh=A, work; .5x7.57x21.93= 83.01. You could use area formulas a lot in home design and remodeling. Maybe, you have a room that is 10 ft. by 12 ft., and you need to know how much space to carpet. Or maybe you need to know how big your bathroom is to know how big of a bathtub to buy. You could need to know how big your bed is so you know what size of bed to buy when you get a new one. floorplan

Irregular figure

1. Area is the amount of space there is inside a figure.
2. I think that it is about 19 cm. squared. My first thought was to count all of the complete squares in the image. Then I pieced them together slowly. If something looked like it was about half of a segment I added that to another about half. I know I won't get the exact size, but I think I'll be pretty close.

3. The area is 10 units squared. For the pond I would think about using feet. For the lake I would use miles.
It is important to know how to do this, because you need to know the area of different places for many jobs. Carpenters, architects, etc. could not do there jobs if they couldn't use this skill. Even pizza places sometimes need to know the area of there pizzas. This skill is needed throughout many industries
